The MSG gives it zesty flavor!

  • 12 large cabbage leaves
  • ¼ tsp pepper
  • 2 eggs beaten
  • 1 ½ lbs ground beef
  • ¼ tsp MSG
  • 1/3 cup butter
  • 1 cup finely minced cabbage
  • ½ cup soft breadcrumbs
  • ¼ cup honey
  • ¼ cup grated onion
  • ¼ cup water
  • ¼ cup molasses
  • 1 ½ tsp salt
  • 3 tbsp water

Heat oven to 350º. Pour boiling water over cabbage leaves and let stand 5 minutes to soften. In bowl, combine ground beef, minced cabbage, onion, salt, pepper, MSG, breadcrumbs, ¼ cup water and eggs. Mix well and divide into 12 equal cylinder shaped rolls. Arrange each roll in center of a scaled cabbage leaf. Roll over two sides of leaves and roll. Place rolls, folded side down, in baking dish. Blend butter, honey, molasses, and 3 tbsp water. Pour over rolls and bake about 45 minutes until browned. Turn rolls after 25 minutes to brown evenly.
