Garvies Point Museum

This gallery exhibition interprets the story of pre-colonial Native American migrations and settlements on Long Island, NY. A museum challenged by budget cuts in the arts, Garvies needed an exhibit that could meet the needs of their finances and still maintain an attention to cultural sensitivity and educational ideals. Weaving together the work of anthropologists, geologists, and independent writers, this exhibit used a diorama, a large-scale interactive map, illustrations, actual artifacts, and descriptive signage to successfully tell the story at a minimal cost. This project was designed at Blumlein Associates, Inc.
